Anti-money laundering checks
The AML wallet
See what your business can spend on identity and company checks, buy a pack, set a low balance warning and turn on automatic top-up.
The AML wallet pays for the identity and company checks your business runs on its clients. You top it up by buying a pack, and each check is paid from it. This article shows how to read the balance, buy a pack, get a warning before the wallet runs low, and let it top itself up.
Before you start
- To open the wallet you need permission to request AML checks. If AML wallet is missing from Settings, ask a business administrator.
- Buying a pack, turning on automatic top-up and setting the low balance level need permission to manage the subscription. Without it you can see the wallet but not change it.
- The Statement tab also needs permission to view clients, because each line names the client a check was for.
- A pack is charged to the card saved for your subscription. Check there is one in Settings, Subscription.
Steps at a glance
Step 01
Open the AML wallet
Select the gear in the top bar to open Settings, then AML wallet under Your business. The Wallet tab opens with the Balance at the top. The bar under it splits the balance three ways:
- Free to spend: what new checks can use now.
- Held for checks in progress: set aside for checks you have requested that have not finished.
- Due for renewals in the next 30 days: what ongoing monitoring renewals are expected to cost soon. It is shown as a guide and is not set aside.
This month shows what checks have cost so far this month, by service.

Buy a pack
Select Top up, or Buy beside a pack under Packs. Choose the pack. Each one says what you pay and what is added; bigger packs carry a bonus. Then select Pay.
Choosing a pack. The Pay button shows the price of the pack you picked. What happens next depends on your card:
- When the payment goes through, the credit is added to the wallet straight away.
- When it is still processing, the window says so, and the credit is added once it clears.
- When the card is declined, needs confirming with your bank, or there is no card, the window says which, with a link to Settings, Subscription to fix it. Nothing is added until a payment succeeds.
Packs you have bought are listed under Packs with their status.

Step 03
Set a low balance level
Under Balance, select Set a level, or Change if one is set. Enter the amount and select Save level. When the free balance falls to that amount, everyone who can manage the subscription is told in Orin OS. They are told once each time it falls past the level. Enter 0 to switch the warning off.
Setting the level that triggers the warning. Step 04
Turn on automatic top-up
Under Auto top-up, tick Top up automatically. Enter the amount in When the free balance falls below, choose a pack in Buy this pack, and select Save. Orin OS then buys that pack with the subscription card when the free balance drops below the amount, so new checks are not refused. Only one automatic purchase is waiting at any time, and Orin OS tries at most once a day.
Automatic top-up, switched off. Step 05
Check the statement
Open the Statement tab. Every credit, hold and charge is listed with the client it was for and the free balance after it. Use From and To to narrow the dates, and Download CSV to take a copy.
The statement. 1: Download CSV.
What success looks like
After a successful purchase the balance line shows the new amount free to spend, the pack is listed under Packs, and the statement has a new credit line.

Common questions
Why is some of the balance not free to spend? Checks you have requested and that have not finished hold their cost. The hold becomes a charge when the check finishes, or is released if the check is cancelled.
What happens if the wallet runs out? New checks that need more than is free are refused, with a link to top up. Checks already requested are not affected, because their cost is already held.
Where did the first credit come from? A new wallet starts with a credit from Orin OS. It shows on the statement as Credit added.
The page says checks run on the test provider. That appears in test environments only. Prices and results there are for testing.
