Connecting your mailbox

Bring Microsoft 365 or Gmail into Orin so correspondence sits beside the work.

Updated Daily work

Orin can read your work mailbox so that a client's emails sit next to their tasks, documents and engagements. Nothing is sent on your behalf, and nothing leaves your mailbox that you have not filed.

Connecting an account

  1. Open Email settings

From Inbox, choose Email settings in the page header. If nothing is connected yet, the notice on the Inbox itself links to the same place.

  2. Choose your provider

Microsoft 365 or Gmail. You will be taken to your provider to sign in and approve the connection.

  3. Come back to Orin

Your recent mail begins appearing within a few minutes. Older mail follows.

You connect your own mailbox, and you see your own mail. Connecting does not give colleagues access to your correspondence.

Filing mail against a client

Open a message and choose the client it belongs to. Filed mail appears on that client's record, so whoever picks the work up next can see what was agreed without asking you to forward anything.

File as you read rather than in a batch at the end of the week. The client is fresh in your mind and the filing takes a second.

When a mailbox stops syncing

Providers expire their permissions periodically, and a password change can end a connection early. Orin tells you on the Inbox when this has happened. Reconnecting is the same three steps as above and keeps everything you have already filed.

Common questions

Does Orin send email from my account? No. Replies you write in Orin are sent through your connected account, and nothing is sent without you pressing send.

Can I connect more than one mailbox? Yes. Each is listed separately in Email settings and can be disconnected on its own.

I disconnected a mailbox. Did I lose the filed mail? No. Anything already filed against a client stays on that client's record.
