Daily work
My Workspace
Your board, your week and your calendar on one screen, and the things waiting on you.
My Workspace answers what am I doing today. It gathers every task assigned to you across every client, so you do not have to go looking client by client, and it holds the things waiting on you, such as engagements to review.
Before you start
- Everyone has a workspace. Select My Workspace in the menu, or go to My Workspace.
- Only tasks assigned to you appear. A task with no owner yet is on its engagement, not on anybody's board.
Steps at a glance
Step 01
Read the Overview
The Overview tab opens first. Notices across the top list what is waiting on you: engagements under Pending Review, things you started and have not finished, and anything not set up on your account. Expand one to see the items.
Four tiles follow:
- On your plate: your open tasks over the next 30 days.
- Late: those whose due date has passed. If this is not zero, start here.
- Hours this week: the time you have logged this week.
- Unbilled: your time not yet on an invoice.
Below them, charts show your overdue and coming week by status, your hours by day, and what is Coming up.
The Overview. 1: the tabs. 2: the first of the four tiles. Step 02
Choose how to see your work
The other tabs show the same tasks arranged differently:
- Tasks: a table with filters, where you also find your draft tasks.
- Kanban: columns by status: To do, In progress, Awaiting (parked on somebody else), In review (waiting on an approver) and Done. Drag a card from To do to In progress to start it.
- Upcoming: columns by when work is due: Overdue, Today, Tomorrow, Next 7 days, Next 30 days and Unscheduled.
- Calendar: your tasks and meetings by Day, Week or Month, with work that has no due date listed beside it.
Kanban: your tasks by status. Upcoming: your tasks by when they are due. Each card shows the client, progress, the number of steps left and the due date. Select one to open the task.
Step 03
Look at a colleague's board
If people report to you, select My board at the top right and choose a name under Reports to you. You see their work, not yours, and the screen says whose it is.
Switch to the board of someone who reports to you. Changing a task from somebody else's board changes it for them. There is no separate copy.
What success looks like
You can see what is late, what is due next and what is waiting on you, and open any of it from the board.
Next steps
- Tasks, subtasks and weightage: raising and working tasks.
- Placing work with Capacity: how loaded you are in hours.
- Finding your way around: the menu and top bar.
Common questions
A task I was expecting is not here. My Workspace shows tasks assigned to you. Check Show cancelled and the filters, and whether the task has an owner yet.
Why is a task late when the work is finished? A task is done when its subtasks are marked done. Logging time against it does not finish it.
Why are there no hours on the board? The board answers what to do next, including work nobody has estimated. Hours are on Capacity.
