Timesheet

My time, submitting a week, and how approvals work.

Updated Time and money

The timesheet is where hours become a record your firm can bill from and report on. It has two tabs: My time, which is yours, and Approvals, which appears if people report to you.

Submitting a week

  1. Check the week is complete

Every day that should have hours has them. A day you did not work is a legitimate zero.

  2. Submit it

The whole week goes at once. Submitting is the point at which it leaves your hands.

  3. Wait for a decision

Your approver either approves it or sends it back with a reason.

A submitted week cannot be edited while it is waiting. If you spot a mistake, ask your approver to return it rather than logging a correction somewhere else.

Approving other people's

If a count appears beside Timesheet in the menu, somebody is waiting on you. That count is red because it is a colleague blocked on your decision rather than a pile of your own work.

Common questions

I forgot to submit last week. Submit it now. Timesheet compliance shows how far back unsubmitted time goes, which is what your firm looks at.

My hours do not match the Capacity screen. They are measuring different things. Capacity is hours committed to work; the timesheet is hours spent. See Capacity.
