Roles and what each can do
Why your menu may be shorter than a colleague’s, and who to ask about it.
Orin does not give everybody the same product. What you can open depends on what your firm has granted you, so two people at the same desk can see different menus.
Access is granted per area, not per rank
Your job title and your access are separate things. Somebody at your firm decides which areas each person may open, and that decision is what the menu reflects.
If a menu item is missing for you, it is not hidden by accident and there is no setting on your side to change. Ask an administrator at your firm.
What administrators can do that others cannot
- See and change everyone's access
- Change firm-wide settings: rates, the working calendar, services, document types
- Read the audit log
Two things that are always yours
Your own Profile and your own Security settings belong to you whatever else you can reach. Nobody can take your own two-factor setup away from you.
Common questions
I can see a screen but it refuses to load anything. Being able to open a screen and being allowed to read its data are two different grants. Report it rather than working around it, because that combination is usually a mistake in how access was set up.
Somebody left the firm. Do I need to do anything? An administrator marks them as removed in Access control. Their logged time and their filed work stay.
