For review, Bin and Quarantine

The three places a document can sit before it is properly filed.

Updated Documents

Most documents go straight to a client. Three tabs hold the ones that did not, and each means something different.

For review

Documents Orin has read and extracted details from, waiting for a person to confirm those details are right.

Confirming is a judgement, not a formality. Extraction is very good and not perfect, and a confirmed document is treated as correct from then on.

When there is a queue, a Confirm extractions control appears. It exists only when there is something in it, so the tab is never offering a door to an empty room.

Uncategorized

Documents with no type yet. They are not lost, they are unclassified, and until they have a type their access is undecided.

Quarantine

Documents held back because something about them failed a check. Quarantine is not a bin: the document is intact and the question is whether it should be admitted.

Bin

Deleted documents, kept so a deletion can be undone. Emptying the bin is permanent.

Purging a document removes it and everything extracted from it. There is no recovery.

Common questions

The tab says For review but the URL says postable. The label was changed and the address was not, because moving a working screen to a tidier URL is churn in exchange for nothing. Use the label.

Something is in Quarantine and I do not know why. Open it. The reason is on the document, and it is usually about the file itself rather than its contents.
