Services
A service is something a client can be engaged for: a set of accounts, a VAT return, a payroll run.
Task templates
Each service carries the tasks that deliver it. When an engagement for that service is raised, those templates are what the tasks come from.
Getting templates right is the highest-leverage setup in Orin. Every engagement afterwards inherits them, so an hour here saves the same hour on every job.
Common questions
An engagement was approved and no tasks appeared. The service has no task templates. Approval agrees the terms; templates raise the work.
Changing a template: does it change live engagements? No. Engagements already raised keep the tasks they were created with, so work in flight does not change under the person doing it.
