Where to find help

The help panel in Orin, keyboard search, and the Help Centre’s Manual, Community and Support.

Updated Help and communityLast checked

Orin's help lives in the Help Centre, a place of its own with three parts: the Manual, the Community forum and your firm's Support tickets. It opens in a new tab beside the screen you were on, so you keep what you were doing while you read.

You do not sign in again. The Help Centre uses the same session as Orin, so if you are signed in to Orin you are already signed in here.

Getting to help from Orin

  1. Step 01

    Open the help panel

Press the ? in the top bar (its label is Help, community and support). The panel offers:

    • Search help…, which searches the manual.
    • Ask Aiden about this screen.
    • On this screen: the articles that document the screen you are on. If there are none it says There is no article about this screen yet.
    • Under Opens in a new tab: Help Centre, Community and Report a problem.
The help panel open from the question mark in the top bar of the Clients screen, showing Search help, Ask Aiden about this screen, two articles On this screen, and links to Help Centre, Community and Report a problem.

Report a problem appears only if you are allowed to raise support tickets.

  2. Step 02

    Search from the keyboard

Press to search. Search reads the whole text of every article, not only titles, and tolerates a typo.

  3. Step 03

Find your way around the Help Centre

Along the top of the Help Centre's sidebar are Manual, Community and Support. The manual's sections are listed below them, and Back to Orin is at the foot. Search the manual is at the top right.

What is in each part

  • Manual is this documentation. It is the same for every firm on Orin.
  • Community is a discussion board every firm can read. See The community forum.
  • Support is your own firm's tickets with Orin. Nobody outside your firm sees them. See Reporting a problem to Orin.

Support appears only if you have access to your firm's support tickets, so your sidebar may be shorter than a colleague's.
