What Aiden can look up and explain, what it cannot do, and how its allowance works.
Aiden is the assistant in Practice. Ask it how something in Orin OS works, or ask it to look up your own work and your business's clients, in a panel that opens beside whatever you are doing. Aiden is read-only: it looks things up and changes nothing.
What Aiden can do
- Explain how Orin OS works. "Why is my progress bar not moving?" or "How do I add a second service to a client?"
- Look up your work. "What is on me this week?" or "Where is my unbilled time sitting?"
- Look up the business's records. "Which clients still need onboarding paperwork?", invoices that are overdue, letters waiting for a signature, deadlines coming up.
Under an answer that read your records, Aiden lists what it checked, such as "Read your tasks" or "Checked client deadlines". Some answers are worked out directly from your records, and then the panel says Answered from your data. Nothing was sent to the model.
What Aiden cannot do
It answers, it does not act
Aiden will not raise a task, send a letter, change a rate or issue an invoice. Everything it tells you still has to be done by you, on the screen that owns it.
It also cannot see anything you cannot see. Aiden answers within your own access, so two colleagues asking the same question can correctly get different answers. If it tried to check something you have no access to, it says so.

Step 01
Open Aiden
Choose Aiden's picture at the bottom right of any Practice screen. You can also open the help menu (the question mark in the top bar) and choose Ask Aiden about this screen.

Ask your question
Type in the box at the foot of the panel and choose Ask, or choose one of the suggested questions under Your work or How Orin works. The page behind the panel stays usable, so you can look at the screen while you read the answer.

Check the answer
Read what Aiden checked, then confirm anything that matters on the screen it points at. Under each answer, Was this helpful? lets you say whether it was.
Step 04
Close or come back later
Press Escape or choose the close button. Your conversation is kept while the browser tab stays open, so reopening Aiden continues where you left off. The panel button beside the close button shows your earlier chats, which you can search and file into folders.
Asking well
- Name the thing. "Which of my tasks are late" works better than "what should I do today".
- Give it a period. "Last quarter" or "this month". Without one it has to guess.
- Ask one question at a time. Two questions in one message tend to get one answer.
Your allowance
Answers that use the model are paid for from the business's AI allowance. The line above the question box shows Your Aiden allowance. When it runs out, Aiden cannot answer until more is added. Choose Request more to ask your administrators: say how much and what it is for, and they decide.
Next steps
Common questions
Is it always right? No. It is good at finding and summarising, and it can be confidently wrong about what a screen does. If an answer matters, check the screen it points at.
Does my question leave the firm? Questions that need the model are answered by an external AI service, so do not paste anything you would not send outside the firm. Answers marked as answered from your data were not sent to the model.
Can I use Aiden in the Help Centre too? Yes. In the Help Centre, every article ends with Still stuck? and an Ask Aiden button that opens Aiden with the article as its starting point.
